Sentinel Flavor Tablets are used to prevent heartworm disease and to control adult hookworm infections, remove and control adult roundworm and whipworm infections. Sentinel Flavor Tablets also contain the insect growth regulator, lufenuron, which is used to control fleas by preventing the development of flea eggs.

For:
Dogs (at least 4 weeks of age and weighing at least 2 lbs)

Benefits:
Sentinel is a palatable once-a-month prescription tablet that prevents heartworm disease and flea populations in dogs and puppies.

Active Ingredients:
milbemycin oxime/lufenuron

Cautions:
The pet should be tested for heartworm disease before starting this medication. The safety of the concurrent use of Sentinel Flavor Tabs in pregnant or nursing dogs or in puppies less than 11 weeks of age has not been demonstrated. Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely. No interactions have been noted with this medication. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together. Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform VetSource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching.


Side Effects:
Side effects may include vomiting, drowsiness, depression, itching, diarrhea, shortness of breath, loss of appetite and reddened skin. There are very few side effects when the drug is given at the usual dose. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.

Usage:
Sentinel should be given orally as directed by your veterinarian. Give either during or immediately after the consumption of a meal and ensure that the entire dose is consumed by your pet.
