My dog typically loves Hill's Ideal Balance chicken, beef, and lamb stew recipes versions. As soon as he hears me popping the lid open, he's right there doing his tappy, tappy dance of excitement. It's gone as soon as I give it to him. To give him more variety, I thought he would like the venison version too. WRONG! While he will eat the venison recipe--he is very hesitant, sniffing at it, and then gingerly eats the stuff. I don't know what he is smelling in this venison recipe that makes him respond like this. At any rate I will feed the case to him over time, but will not buy another case of this.

I was really impressed with this food. My dog took her time eating it (10 minutes, normally inhales her kibble in 45 seconds!) and she ate all the vegetables! I had always fed her dry food, but I'll be getting some of this to get her to slow down occasionally and enjoy her food. She saved all the meat pieces until the end, eating the vegetables and sauce first. I was a little worried about how it would affect her later, but everything looked normal, and even though I'd completely switched up, it was balanced enough it didn't upset her gut at all. I was impressed with this food, again!
