UA healthy bladder starts with the right balance of vital nutrients. Excess minerals can encourage the formation of crystals in the urine, which may lead to the creation of bladder stones. They can cause discomfort and lead to more serious problems that require the care of a veterinarian. Hills nutritionists & veterinarians developed Prescription Diet® c/d®® Multicare clinical nutrition specially formulated to support your cats urinary health. In fact, c/d® Multicare is clinically tested nutrition to lower the recurrence of most common urinary signs by 89%.

* Reduces the risk of struvite & calcium oxalate stones
* Recommended for lifelong feeding of adult cats

This food requires a veterinary prescription.
Hill's is updating their Prescription Diet® packaging and a portion of the name. With Prescription Diet® c/d®, the current descriptor is "Urinary Tract Health"; in 2015 it will be "Urinary Care".

One of our cats has multiple heath issues, include a recent bout with urinary tract problems. We mix his morning medication in with his wet food. The texture of c/d is a little odd - we add a few drops of water and mix it in - seems to help. Our cat prefers the seafood flavor over the chicken flavor c/d. More flavor options would be nice. The Prescription Diet line is rather expensive, but seems to be working - no urinary tract problems since switching to c/d.

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet c/d Multicare Feline Urinary Care with Ocean Fish Canned Cat Food:

Our cat developed crystals in his urine, so our vet recommended this. Although it says it's fish it's largely pork, and I don't like that it's full of grain and by-products. But, the health issues have improved, so we'll stay on it as long as we need to. I wish there were a grain-free alternative.

Even I can't stand the smell

I am sorry to say that my cat will not touch this food, even if I mix with something else. She just sniffs and walks away. I must say that it does smell worse that any cat food I have ever opened.

        CD for Cats Works

        By

        from Louisiana

Sylvester has been on this since early summer 2013 when he had a near-death episode of stopped-up urethra. No further problems, urine testing continues to be good. It doesn't seem to have the best smell or texture for his sloppy-roast-beef preferences, but he does it eat pretty well; really likes the CD crunchies.

I have two cats. One is a prescription diet c/d. He loves his food. And it helps him with his bladder. Good cat food.

        Why is seafood better?

        By

        from Undisclosed

As others have mentioned, for some reason my cat will not touch the chicken flavor, but loves the seafood. My cat has not had any bladder issues since going on the prescription dry and wet food.
