Although Hill's Prescription Diet d/d Dry Feline Formula is prescribed, all 3 of my kitties LOVE the Duck & Green Pea Formula. Two of them are 16 year old brothers & the other is a 4 year old little girl. They also like the canned wet in the same flavor & the Venison. It's important to me to be able to have a HEALTHY food that not only is safe but they really enjoy eating. Thank you so very much!

I have heard a lot of people complain that their cats would not eat the D/d. I did not think anything of it until a vet prescribed it for my own cat (who eats anything). I tried the venison first and the cat wouldn't even go near the food bowl with it in there. After a few days of him not eating I switched it out for the Duck. Still no luck. I had to put him back on his normal food. It is way too expensive and not at all palatable.

Finally, a food our cat is not allergic to!

By

from Undisclosed

So happy we have finally found a food our cat enjoys that doesn't give her diarrhea or skin rashes. We were previously on dry z/d and although her skin improved, she had loose stool daily. Our vet recommended this and we switched her diet over 3 days as advised. Finally by the end of the week, her stool was more solid and her coat is the best ever. I'm so grateful! Our cat is the healthiest she's ever been :)

Comments about Hill's Prescription Diet d/d Feline Skin and Food Sensitivities Duck and Green Pea Formula Dry Cat Food:

One of my two cats has IBD so we're in the process of finding foods that both of my cats will eat. The cat that does not have IBD was willing to sample this food, though she pretty quickly threw it up. The kitty with IBD won't even go near it. I think I just have picky eaters, there's nothing wrong with the food itself. The food seems to be good quality and more moist than most other dry foods I've purchased in the past. If your cat has digestion issues, this is worth a try. I wish I could get a sample because I have no idea what to do with the rest of the (expensive) bag! I had the same problem with the venison version of the d/d dry food.

My cat is allergic to chicken, so this duck formula is perfect for her. She loves it and always finishes her bowl.

What a change this made for this kitty!

    By

Recommended to an owner with a kitty for chronic diarrhea and vomiting. Worked perfectly! The owner decided to try a different food (otc novel protein) and within weeks back to the same issues; vomiting, diarrhea, and now also urinary issues. Returned to Hill's Rx D/D Duck and Green Pea and wow, back to normal again. This little kitty is happy and healthy again!

I recently adopted a five year old short-haired cat. She came to me on this food and I tried to transition her to what the resident cat was consuming. After the switch, I noticed that she was constantly grooming herself and covered in bald patches from hair loss. After consulting with my vet, I switched her back to the Hills Feline Skin Support and within a week she had stopped her constant grooming. Her hair has come back in to the bald spots and I'm noticing it getting thicker overall.

    really made a difference

    By

My cat was scratching all the time and actually made wounds and open sores. After a few weeks of the Duck/Pea food he was back to normal. I mistakenly assumed I could re-introduce a store bought food, and he immediately went back to scratching and itching. We are now on the Duck/Pea for life. Nothing else would be worth it. He is happy and health. Thank you.

My cats must think it's caviar...

This food was very expensive, but my cats scarf it down like it's their last meal. Plus my cat was scratching her eyes so much she was getting bald spots above them, but since she started eating this prescription diet, her fur is growing back. My other cat had constant eye infections and that has stopped too so I guess the exorbitant price of this food is worth it.

great product, but goes STALE with new bag

    By

Our 4 cats have been eating d/d for about 2-3 years now. It's worked well at curbing vomiting & diarrhea due to their allergies. I was very disappointed to see the bag is no longer resealable. I thought the last bag as just a fluke and dumped it into an older bag that still had the zipper seal. Nope, this latest bag bag has no seal either. Our cats love the food, but don't like it once it's been sitting open for extended periods of time. Hill's, PLEASE BRING BACK THE RESEALABLE BAGS.
