Hey guys! Got a great new product in the mail to try out for free and it was a Blessing for my 14yr. old, 3lb. Chi. Iams sent us a bag of their new Proactive Health Senior Plus to try out for FREE, yes I said FREE. Wondering How? It is a perk I get for being a BzzAgent and I am loving it! I am so happy with Iams new Proactive Health Senior Plus dog food and let me tell you I am very picky about what I give to my animals, they are like my babies. Our little Chi is a girl and her name is Tag-Along and where she is so old she only had 3 teeth left and the other day she lost one of them and now she has 2 and she was not able to eat her food very well. We have tried wet food and she has never really liked it so she wouldn't eat it and we were starting to get worried because she could not eat the hard food either (or so we thought). Then we received our free bag of dog food from Iams (they also sent us a scoop and a cute little puppy bowl key chain). We first read the ingredients and were really surprised to see that the first one was chicken, not corn meal or some bi-product but chicken. Then it also had egg in it for her protein health and L-Carnitine for her metabolism, that was impressive in itself. We thought this will be so good for her, if she can eat it. We opened up the bag and was tickled pink when we saw that the dog food was in tiny bite size pieces, smaller than regular bite sized food for senior dogs. We scooped out the recommend amount that was on the bag for her weight and put it in her food dish and waited to see what she would do. She came out of her hidey bed (which is her doggy blankets which nobody messes with or she gets all cranky like...lol), walked up and sniffed it and stuck her tongue to a few pieces to try it. SHE LOVED IT! She was able to eat the tiny bites and not get choked on the food or hurt her mouth from trying to chew with only 2 teeth. We are so happy that she can eat and get the protein and nutrients she needs from Iams Proactive Health Senior Plus dog food. Will update soon hopefully with a picture of her (she may be old and only have 2 teeth but she can still hear and move fast when it comes to us trying to take a picture of her). If you have a senior dog who is like a baby and needs a little extra TLC with their food, I HIGHLY recommend Iams Proactive Health Senior Plus for them. Everybody have a good day!

Unfortunately, my dog didn't like this food. He refused to even touch it. I even tried to encourage him by putting slices of chicken on top, but he just ate the chicken and left the Iam's dog food where it was. My dog primarily eats all-natural, organic dog food. I was initially leery of this dog food because I noticed it had some ingredients in it that I'm unfamiliar with. I was concerned, even before my dog decided that he didn't like it, that it would give him allergies or upset his stomach. I gave this dog food to my sister. She has two daschunds. She said that one liked it, but the other did not. Overall, due to the fact that my dog was disinterested in it, and because I'm concerned about some of the ingredients, I wouldn't recommend this to dog owners unfortunately. I think it would be in Iam's best interest to make a higher quality dog food with organic or at least natural ingredients that would appeal to people who own dogs with sensitivities and allergies. I think that people are becoming more and more aware of the disadvantages to the lower-end dog foods and the health conditions associated with them. I think that Iam's tends to be a trusted and popular brand, so if they offered another line of higher-end dog foods, people would probably embrace it.

When we rescued our dog, he was 4 years old. We had him on Beneful. As he got older we noticed he was starting to vomit about every other day. Not to the point of losing weight, but just small amounts her and there. I changed his food to the Blue Buffalo brand, when it came out with its "real" this and that claims. I noticed a small change. Then my dog hurt himself last year and we took him to the vet. That's when I found out that he was a "Senior" dog. Lol. The Dr. recommended putting him on a senior dog food because of the arthritis and other old people things he was starting to experience. We did that in August of 2015 and except from the dog flu he had a month ago, he hasn't had any tummy problems and has the pep back in his step.
After a couple of weeks with IAMS Proactive Health Mature Small Breed it is amazing the difference it has made in our dog's energy, and I think has reduced some of his joint pain judging by the smoother way he's moving around. For the past three years he was always lagging way behind on our walks and pretty slow moving around the house. Now he's running and moving like he did 4 years ago. Amazing!

Comments about Iams ProActive Health Senior Plus 11+ Years Dry Dog Food:
I love the fast delivery and the Iams senior is good for my almost 16 yr old fur baby.

- Female beagle almost 16 yrs old
Doubled her energy level, improved her walking and running significantly in two weeks. Dog wakes me up almost every day at 3AM to eat more food. Amazing improvement with just a food change. Suggest you try just one bag to see if it helps your older dog.
My 6 year old Papillon seemed to thoroughly enjoyed this product.
I received this a free sample from Pinch Me. I have 4 dogs so I had to use this as a snack rather than a meal. They really loved the taste. I would consider purchasing it when our current dog food runs out.
My dog is small and really picky/finicky. He did eat some of the food I got, though, so I would say its decent. I did not notice any problems with his digestion after eating the food, so that's always a good thing (meaning his bowel movements were normal and he did not get sick!). If your dog isn't picky, I would think this would be a great product. Unfortunately, we don't all have that luxury. I ended up giving the rest of the food to a neighbor and he said is dog really enjoyed it. Overall, I would say its a good/decent food with good nutrients, etc., so I would still recommend it.
Bought it and he seems to enjoy it. Like the smaller size of bits compared to some others.
My dogs really enjoyed this dog food. Usually with other brands my dog will pick the meat pieces out and leave the rest.
I felt good about feeding this to my dog. She loves it and eats it up.
