This product was no match for my GSD. He slows down, but when he starts to get frustrated, he simply grabs the little tab, releases the suction, and takes it out of the bowel and sets it to the side of his dish on the floor. He did this on Christmas morning after unwrapping it and trying to eat the wrapping paper. I still use it, but must stand there and watch him and take it immediately after he puts it down. I bought two of these, and he chewed up the first one because it looks like a chew bone, and he thought it was an after dinner toy. Good thing I bought two, right?

My initial turn off was the VERY strong odor of the Gobble Stopper. I don't like "plasticy" smells coming from things that will be in/around my or my pets food. I tried (stupidly, perhaps?) to wash off the smell in the dishwasher and...nope. Strong as ever.
My second gripe is, my Border Collie immediately dislodged the stopper and just pushed it around her bowl as she inhaled her food. Maybe because she's a Border Collie? Maybe not? I was not impressed with the stay-puttedness (that's right) of this product.
I got two of these from PetFlow and they are clean, smelly, and in the back of a cabinet where they will stay until my next garage sale. :-(

It actually slowed her down

I needed something to slow Sterling's eating. This really worked well for her. And it was so very easy. Dachshunds on the whole are voracious eaters and Sterling is no exception. Finally something that worked and was so easy to use.

Won't stick

By

Never mind the cheep construction. I tried this in a flat bottom stainless steel bowl. It doesn't suction to the bowl. I even tried wetting the bottom and it still wouldn't stick.
The dog just picked it up out of the bowl and dropped it on the floor. I tried it a couple of times and couldn't get it to stick to the bowl. The last time I tired the dog picked it up, brought it to the sofa and chomped it to bits.
It was unhelpful.

Great idea but suction cup does not work well enough

By

I have a Shepherd puppy that eats way too fast. I only feed out of stainless bowls and thought this might be the perfect solution for her. A truly great idea. It really is ..... BUT. At first try it worked well enough. The second time she caught on that she could break the seal of the suction and it became a chew toy in a matter of minutes. I don't like to feed my animals out of plastic or rubber dishes. It IS a great idea but I cannot recommend this for a smart but frenzy gobble canine.

This product is smaller then what is recommended for certain size dishes and does not stay stuck to the dish as stated. Would love to send them back for a refund but its not worth paying for return shipping.

JUNK!

both gobble stoppers failed the first time used. the suction on one failed within a minute, and my dog just lifted it out of his bowl and placed it on the ground and continued to eat. the second one followed within another minute. i tested them out on my washing maching and one did not grab at all, the other would, but allowed air to leak under the seal within 30 seconds. so i tried putting a rock into my females dish and that worked a whole lot better. cheaper too. i feel like i wasted 18 bucks for two cheap pieces of plastic shaped like a bone, most likely made in china. worthless! and even if it did seal, it did not slow down the feeding time by up to 500....500 what? seconds? percent? nano-seconds maybe!
maybe this thing worked by slowing my female down by 15 seconds only....the rock at least slows her down by a minute.

It doesn't work

By

The suction cup on this works very well in my dog's ceramic bowl but the gobble stopper did not slow down her eating at all. She eats from a very shallow one cup bowl and the bone is almost as wide across as the bowl, but it doesn't slow her down. She runs her tongue under the bone and is done eating within seconds, the same as always. It's only $5 but it's $5 of hard earned money that does nothing, so still not worth the money spent

Waste of Money!

Do not waste your money on this product~ I ordered it for my 4 month old puppy and he takes it out of the bowl himself every time! I tried using moisture to get it to stick better, no difference!
Complete fail for this item, maybe because he is a mischievous puppy?! Does not work!!!!

Product was a piece of junk

This product was a total waste of my precious money. It did not work in any shape, fashion or form. It claims to have a STRONG suction cup to hold it in place inside the pet dish.....NOT. Within minutes of my dogs starting to eat, the suction cup was no longer holding and the product was easily lifted out of the pet dish by myself or my pet. IF it were possible to return the item for a refund, I would in a heartbeat....however, since it is not returnable it will just go in the trash.

Just a bone

This doesn't look like the picture and is just a plastic bone with a suction cup that doesn't stick well especially when the food is oily. My dog moves it around in the bowl and it doesn't slow him down. Very disappointed.

Works great - glad it can move from dish to dish

By

I have two small/medium dogs. One would eat her food, then go to the pickier one's bowl as soon as she stepped away from it. I'd started adding dry to her canned, just to slow her down. This was a great addition. I like the fact that it can move from bowl to bowl as needed. I use a little moisture on the bottom, and it sticks great. I was glad they had the tab to pull up - that made it really easy to remove once I figured that part out! Of all things, after I mixed up both bowls of food, the picky one went over to the one with the gobble stopper and decided she wanted to eat out of that one that day. And half the time I have to spoon feed her to get her started!
