My cat has a few immune issues and above all else is allergic to chicken (yes, chicken). This is one of the few brands out there that make their product without any chicken, other than the ultra-expensive prescription diet foods. My cat loves this kibble and we see no reaction to the foods in his allergies at all. Love this brand!

This food was the first dried food my wife and I bought after our tomcat was diagnosed with a chicken allergy. We appreciated the more reasonable price-point that Natural Balance offered. It helped him gain some weight back and his intestines healed, and for that we are grateful! It was also kind of fun to go around the house saying "Duck & Pea," I guess we're a little goofy and immature sometimes. However, not too long afterward our cat turned his nose up at it and refused to eat it, (which must have required some willpower because it was all we were offering at the time.) We went to the store to shop around for other options, and while they are hard to come by, we did find something else he enjoyed so we moved on.

Comments about Natural Balance L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets Green Pea and Duck Dry Cat Food:

My cat was scratching and chewing her lower back. After some research I decided to try changing her food to see if it would make a difference. Figured I'd go with limited ingredient, and different protein. She's doing great. Her fur grew back and her symptoms seem to be gone. She's not crazy about the food and doesn't always finish, but I figure it's a trade off. At least she's not miserable with the itching any longer.

Comments about Natural Balance L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets Green Pea and Duck Dry Cat Food:

One of my cats developed some skin and hair issues, so I decided to switch to a limited ingredient diet to rule out food allergies. Her coat has really improved, and she and the other cat digest the food well. Their main diet is the canned version of this food.

we have four cats in the house and one of them has inflammatory Bowel Disease. we also buy the canned NB LID duck and green pea and she is thriving on both of these products. All the cats have been eating the dry and are loving it. Thank you for having the best prices and delivering these items right to our door in a timely fashion.
            sincerely,

My cats are fairly picky but they love this dry food and I don't need to give them a lot because it is so nutrient-rich.

Bought this food for a cat that has been itching and biting her lower back. I'm thinking maybe she's got a food allergy. So, before I spend more time and money at the vet's office, I wanted to experiment with this limited ingredient food. Her itching is better, but not gone completely. Maybe more time? Maybe she's still finding a way to snatch food from the other cats. It is better than it was though, so I'll take it!

Both my cats like the taste of this food. They seemed to be able to pick out this food from their previous food while I was weaning them. So...so far so good.

cat with skin issues actually likes it!

My 11 yr old cat loves chicken but we have taken it out of his diet since he is allergic to chicken. That means the 20 yr old and 2 yr old cats had to change as well. They all like the green pea and duck formula and I don't have to read ingredients anymore. If you suspect your itchy kitty who scratches himself bald might be allergic, eliminate one thing at a time from his diet. I recommend starting with his kibble and narrow it down. Took me over a year to do this since the vet's solution was an expensive anti itch med that made him vomit. He actually wants to be petted instead of running away from touch. Thanks to Natural Balance!!

My cat was diagnosed with a grain and chicken allergy. This food was rec'd to me by the vet as a less expensive solution than prescription food. It's been a life changer, my only complaint is that I have to mix it with a little bit of the wet food formula because there's not much of a smell to the dry food and my cat was reluctant to eat it. Luckily he thinks the wet food smells decicious!

Our cat is a finicky feline that has dry skin. This product keeps her excessive grooming to an acceptable level so that she doesn't lose fur--especially in the winter. I don't think she's wild about it, but she eats it, and it solved our problem.
