Comments about NaturVet Digestive Enzymes with Prebiotics and Probiotics for Dogs and Cats:

I bought this to use for 2 of my cats that minor digestive upset sometimes. Both cats were fine the week I started administering the prebiotic. I put the prescribed dosage in their food for 2 morning feedings. Both days, both cats had terrible explosive diarrhea the rest of the day. After stopping the product, both cats were fine the following day. I believe this product does the exact opposite of what it should be doing. It causes digestive upset.

My dogs seem to do well on this product. I mix it in with their food twice a day and they have very few digestive issues. They have no problem with the taste.

This product has help both my dogs gain more energy and a healthy appetite. My min pin was gaining weight and acting sluggish during winter. He's trimmer now and a healthy burst of energy.

Cure for Yacking Cats and great for Dog as well

About 2 years ago, I had to take one of the long-term being babysat by grandma (me) kids' cats to the vet for what what turned out to be terminal cancer in his chest. At the time he was having urinary tract problems, losing weight and in obvious distress. He was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection which was treated with antibiotics. The vet also prescribed high calorie canned food to put the weight back on him and provided a prescription bottle with probiotic powder in it. There was no brand name on this and the instructions were just to add a pinch to the soft food. He did put the weight back on, his lifetime of hair ball issues vanished, and he did much better for nearly a year when he went critical fast and it was determined he had a tumor in his chest which was the source of the previous year's problems. I have to say, I'm glad we didn't know when he first got sick because he had a great year we probably would have missed out on.

He left behind my cat and three other long-term grandma sitting kids' cats. I continued to put the pinch of probiotics in the soft food I was feeding the rest of the feline gang. I noticed that my YACK monster who had seen improvements with going grain-free in cat food, was doing even better with the addition of the "probiotics." I also wondered if it might help my 10 year old German Shepherd Service Dog who had food issues all her life, no grain, etc. As the vet provided prescription bottle got close to the end, and not having anything other than "probiotic" to go on, I started shopping. I came across this product and ordered the first 8 oz container of NaturVet Digestive Enzymes with Prebiotics and Probiotics for Dogs and Cats about 6 months ago. I mix 1/2 t with dogs breakfast and about 1/8 t with the 1/2 cup of soft 3 of the cats share in the morning (one cat won't touch soft food).

I've had no objection to this from the dog or the cats. Everyone's digestions seems to be benefiting to the point I am now taking a probiotic daily myself.

Max had intestinal surgery to remove a large piece of towel (yes, he is an idiot) and he has had trouble with diarrhea and keeping weight on ever since. He and his sister, both catahoulas, have been naturally thin, but this scares me. The pre and pro biotics do help. He likes the taste and at least the diarrhea goes away when we sprinkle this on his food. The Stella and Chewy wafers also help put in the muscle.
