On Saturday September 29th, I received a 2-year old cat from a Rescue. He came to me with a condition which required medication in pill form. I had to administer it to him the next day. It was a struggle, as he was new to me and my other cat, and shortly after I gave up trying to put it into his mouth, then getting him to swallow it. I then tried putting the pill into food (butter), but it didn't work. I then went to the pet store and bought a bag of Greenies Salmon Flavoured Pill Pockets, as well as some high quality wet food. I got home and put the pill into the wet food, which he didn't touch. I then gave him a Pill Pocket (without a pill inside of it) shortly after, to get him used to the taste. He liked it, and ate it. The next day I put a pill in a Pill Pocket, then fed it to him. He gobbled it up! I've been doing this with every other pill I've had to administer to him, with no problems whatsoever. He seems to love this stuff! (Note that I only give him one dose of medication at a time, as recommended by the Vet, every other day, in only ONE Pill Pocket. ) I am considering this product nothing short of marvellous, and I HIGHLY recommend it.

A few weeks ago I was disappointed to notice that the duck & pea flavor were suddenly not on the shelf at the pet store. Both of my cats loved them and would take their pills without any problem. Now I am having to "pill" them, because the other flavors are not as well accepted. One cat will eat salmon on occasion, and the other won't touch it. Is there any chance that you will bring the duck flavor back? I bought the canine duck version and they don't like it.

By

I currently use pill pockets for my cat! LOVE this product but my cat will need medication forever so could you please make other flavors? I know there is salmon too but I noticed for the dental chews there are many other flavors i.e. tuna, catnip. Could you please increase the pill pocket flavors? Thank you!

Feline Greenies Pill Pockets

By

What happened to the size of these pill pockets? Unless I squeeze 2 pill pockets around the pill, it no longer is big enough. Obviously, they have been cut and are much smaller. Looking for another option.

Pockets get dry too fast

By

Can you please go back to the old formula so the pockets don't get so crumbly and lose their flavor? Or, maybe package them in smaller sizes? I am wasting half a bag because my cat won't eat them when they get stale.

Didn't work with my cat

By

Unfortunately, these pill pockets did not work for giving my cat medicine. First of all, they were too small for either of the kinds of medicine I was trying to conceal. One of the meds was a capsule, and the other was a tablet. I tried cutting the tablet into quarters (the pockets were too small even for a half of the tablet), and made sure not to touch the pocket with the hand that touched the pill, but my cat would still have nothing to do with it - or at best, he would just eat around the piece of medicine. I thought maybe he just didn't like the flavor of the pill pocket, but he gladly ate one that was wrapped around a piece of his food! It was worth a try, but definitely disappointing.

Pepper loves pill time

By

from Undisclosed

Pepper was recently diagnosed as hyperthyroid. I thought I was an expert pill giver but 2x per day got to both of us. Vet informed me of pill pockets and now Pepper will dance for her pills. My other cat loves them as a special treat.

      Love these!!!!

      By

      from Undisclosed

These are wonderful!!! I have the salmon-flavored ones and my cat just loves them. They're nice and soft so it's really easy for him to eat them (which is great since he's missing some teeth). It's super easy to mold the pills into them, too. Giving him his pill twice daily has never been easier. Highly recommend this product! What a great invention... someone was thinking!
