I was invited to try Purina light and healthy as a part of the healthy hundred bloggers club. My black lab Pippi is about 5-10 pounds overweight. I began to slowly mix in her light and healthy food. She started finishing her dinner before all of the other dogs! After about a week she was eating strictly light and healthy. I started walking her 30 minutes a day every single day. At the end of the first week, Pippi's harness was falling off of her! She lost about 5 inches from her midsection!! She has also lost about 4 lbs after eating light and healthy for a month. Now don't forget you should also be ACTIVE with your dog. Between the food and exercise, it is possible to help your dog get back into shape. Another thing I loved about this food, is that I could pronounce all of the ingredients. I am glad Purina gave me the chance to share this with my dog. The other dogs are jealous of Pippi's food, and we are thinking of switching everyone over to light and healthy!

This dog food is anything but healthy. Since being on this food for over a month my dog passes bowels 4 times a day vs. the usual 2. So yes, he has lost some weight because his body doesn't retain any of it. Looking into the full ingredient list I found that this food is filled with several controversial ingredients such as garlic oil, whole grain corn, soybean hulls, meat and bone meal, whole grain wheat, soybean meal, soybean germ meal, corn germ meal, and let's not forget the artifical coloring. Do you really think the dog cares what color their food is? It's not necessary. This food is plant-based while using a small amount of meat and bone meal as its main source of animal protein. No wonder my dog's body wants to rid itself of this garbage so much. I would look at other weight managed foods before going to this poor excuse of dog food.

Best dog food from purina ever!

Comments about Purina Dog Chow Active Senior 7+ Dry Dog Food:

My adopted husky mix is super picky so after she was old enough to get off of puppy chow we went to the normal dog chow (green bag) and she hated it so after much trial and error we got light and healthy and to this day she absolutely loves it. We occasionally feed her the healthy morsels (purple bag) and she loves that too! Please don't ever change this food! Thanks Purina!

I was looking for a dog food my rotti and pit would love and lose weight and make them more active. After 6 months of them eatting this dog food they are more active and after a year they are like they were as they were younger.

I've been using this food for my over weight Golden. In a year she went from 95 lbs to a healthy 75lbs. She loves the food and I would recommend it for pups that need to drop some weight.

I have fed my little Lhasa Apso little bites since we brought her home. She won't eat other dog food and I'm ok with that. It is honestly the cheapest proper dog food out there.

      My babies LOVE Little Bites

Comments about Purina Dog Chow Active Senior 7+ Dry Dog Food:

My herd of Shitzus LOVE little bites. I have tested them by placing two varieties in front of them, and they choose Little Bites every time - and send dirty looks my way if I don't refill their bowls. The other brand would grow mold because if I leave it, they won't touch it.

Comments about Purina Dog Chow Active Senior 7+ Dry Dog Food:

I have started giving our 2 bichons and 1 cocker spaniel little bites and they seem to really enjoy it. The cocker spaniel will come and get me and then look at the container of food to let me know it is time to eat. Little Bites is something they enjoy and it is quality food coming from Purina!!!
