My dog was put on Royal Canin Urinary SO earlier this year after he had surgery to remove over 100 bladder stones. Apparently he loves this food! Over the past 5 years, I had tried him on several foods from Purina, Iams, and Pedigree, but this is the first dog food that he has eaten consistently. It's no longer a struggle to get him to eat a full bowl :)

After surgery a year ago to remove bladder stones my vet prescribed this food and my Bichon eats it which is better than I can say about the canned food from another company she would not eat. I mix this formula with both the small dog and moderate calorie formulas just for a variety for my Bichon. My vet does not sell the small dog or moderate calorie formulas so I had him send the prescription to the mail order company I buy them from. Not a big deal, just more money out of my pocket. She is doing well and the vet is now approving of her weight(he used to say she was overweight). The bladder stones have not returned so maybe this food is the key as all the information I could find on bladder stones warned of the re-occurrence rate. She seems to be healthy and happy which are the most important things so I will continue to feed her this food.

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Canine URINARY SO Dry Dog Food:

Has to be on this food indefinitely due to bladder stones 2 1/2 years ago. Pulled through surgery great at 13 years of age. He eats it but I need to put a tiny amount of the canned Royal Canin SO food on top to further entice him. Could you post his wonderful picture on the site? Let me know if you do?

Perfect for my Miniature Schnauzer with bladder stones!

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Canine URINARY SO Dry Dog Food:

My miniature schnauzer was diagnosed with calcium oxalate bladder stones a few years ago. He had them surgically removed and has been on a very strict diet ever since. Royal Canin Urinary SO dry dog food is reasonably priced, compared to other brands, and my dog loves it. PetFlow is the only company I buy it from now. They provide the best customer service and every order placed arrives promptly at my door step just a few days later.

Very Palatable Foods

By

from Mead, CO, United States

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Canine URINARY SO Dry Dog Food:

I have had to use prescription pet foods both personally and professionally over the years for both dogs and cats and have found that the pets will generally eat RC Rx foods with no hesitation but I have had more difficulty getting pets to eat other name brand prescription pet foods. I won't even consider any other prescription food for my pets. Best of all it works. I'm sure the other brands of prescription pets foods work well also but it won't work if the pet won't eat it! Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Canine URINARY SO Dry Dog Food:

My dog has been eating this for years. As a young dog we found crystals in his urine that indicated he could be getting bladder stones. Starting him on dry and canned so and have never had bladder stones [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Ever since Rambo had urinary stones removed and he was prescribed this food, he's had no problems. It works and he loves it! The price is very steep, though. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
