My dog was put on Royal Canin Urinary SO earlier this year after he had surgery to remove over 100 bladder stones. Apparently he loves this food! Over the past 5 years, I had tried him on several foods from Purina, Iams, and Pedigree, but this is the first dog food that he has eaten consistently. It's no longer a struggle to get him to eat a full bowl :)

After surgery a year ago to remove bladder stones my vet prescribed this food and my Bichon eats it which is better than I can say about the canned food from another company she would not eat. I mix this formula with both the small dog and moderate calorie formulas just for a variety for my Bichon. My vet does not sell the small dog or moderate calorie formulas so I had him send the prescription to the mail order company I buy them from. Not a big deal, just more money out of my pocket. She is doing well and the vet is now approving of her weight(he used to say she was overweight). The bladder stones have not returned so maybe this food is the key as all the information I could find on bladder stones warned of the re-occurrence rate. She seems to be healthy and happy which are the most important things so I will continue to feed her this food.

Great food!

My dog had to have a very expensive surgery 3 years ago to remove bladder stones that were caused by crystals in her urine. After the surgery, she was put on Urinary SO and, so far, she has had clean urine cytologies!

My Siberian Husky has been on this diet for over two years. She just turned 11 and she looks great. She has never had any more problems with crystals and her coat is beautiful and she lives the taste. The resealable bag is great and the food stays fresh.

Dissolved bladder stones

By

from Los Angeles, CA, United States

During a routine physical my vet found that my dogs bladder was full of debris and stones. He started her on urinary so and four weeks later we rechecked an ultrasound and they had completely dissolved. I'm so happy I avoided surgery because of this diet!

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Canine URINARY SO Dry Dog Food:

Not sure if it's the food, the meds, or the combination. But he has not been able to control his bladder.
