My dog was put on Royal Canin Urinary SO earlier this year after he had surgery to remove over 100 bladder stones. Apparently he loves this food! Over the past 5 years, I had tried him on several foods from Purina, Iams, and Pedigree, but this is the first dog food that he has eaten consistently. It's no longer a struggle to get him to eat a full bowl :)

My dog has been on this food exclusively for her bladder and it's worked very well at maintaining her ph. The only thing is as she ages and her arthritis gets worse, I can't give her anything to help her with it because it's counter indicated for the food. It would be awesome if you could develop an SO food that also incorporated other nutrition needs like joint health!

    It really works!!

We kept having urinary problems every since our springer spaniel was a pup...... thought she'd die young because it was such an ongoing problem. After quite a few vet bills, the vet recommended this food and we have never had another urinary problem!!

Pet food should not be soooooo... expensive. Especially if it is necessary by prescription for health reasons.

I use this prescription dog food as a "treat" when I am going out the door so my dog associates it's good taste with my (bad) leaving her behind..... She also gets them as back-up food, with and without water or broth, when I'm out of it's companion canned food. She will do tricks for them and appears to loves the CRUNCH and flavor of the small pellets.

My dog developed urinary bladder stones requiring surgery and the veterinarian prescribed this product to aid in preventing developing new urinary problems. She likes the food and its easily digestible, although a bit pricey!

                My Paisley loves this food

                By

                from Newark, Ohio, United States

My Paisley is a shih-tzu mix & from the time she was around 12 weeks old she has been on this food. She is 2 yrs old now & I have never had any problem getting her to eat this food !! When she was around 8 weeks old I noticed her urine was dark orange. I took her to my vet & they checked her urine & found she was full of crystals (Kidney /bladder stones). So my vet put her on Royal Canin Urinary S/O. She has done wonderful on this food. I decided to keep her on this food. I have her urine checked every few months & it has been clear so far !! I would highly recommend Royal Canin Urinary S/O !!!

                Concerned about ingredients

                By

                from Fairborn, OH, United States

I decided to switch from hills prescription diet to this brand, but had always had my dog on blue buffalo, for 8 years!! The first ingredient in BB is real meat, not so in this prescription brand or hills. I'm concerned my dog is not receiving adequate nutrition, especially for the price!!!
