My cat, Minuit, had horrific food allergies. His hair was falling out, he had diarrhea, was losing weight, and obviously wasn't his usual goofy, happy self. He also has a seizure disorder and is on phenobarbital so my vet is a feline specialist who has gotten his seizures under control. The allergies crept up gradually and she kept saying I need to do food testing at home to see what he's reacting to, but I kept trying various higher quality brands hoping he'd improve, which he didn't. The first picture I've included is him at his worst - that white patch on his head is a bald spot!! My little Friar Tuck! He is thin and you can see that his coat looks ratty. Finally I decided "Enough!" and took him off everything and started him on the foods recommended by my vet, Royal Canin Veterinary formulas for food sensivities and - voila! Picture #2 - a fat, happy, robust cat who is as nutty as the day I adopted him! My vet even said she has NEVER seen such a dramatic response to a dietary change. My Minuit loves the venison as well as the duck and rabbit flavors. He also eats the dry duck flavor and the hydrolyzed protein. I have 2 other cats who eat the diet also and they love it as well. Thank you, Royal Canin, for making my beloved cat's life happy again, I am a true believer and a huge fan! Naomi Blake

Great for sensitive cat, but hard to find!

This food has helped my cat with allergies and a sensitive gi tract, but it is very hard to find and often out of stock and unavailable! Please be more consistent about availability.

Happy Cat

We switched our cat over to the PV upon developing a sensitivity to his Urinary SO. He immediately took to the food and has returned to his old happy self. Definitely recommend for anyone dealing with sensitive kitty tummies.

Great food!

By

from Knoxville, TN, United States

My kitty has a severe food allergy and can only have high quality proteins and limited ingredients. Since she has been on this food she has gained 2lbs and has had wonderful reviews from our vet. She was once given only a few months to live and it's been almost a year and she is thriving!!

Healthier, happier cats!

By

from Cincinnati, OH, United States

My cats were throwing up all the time, but then I switched them to Royal Canin at my vet's suggestion, and it fixed them right up. They love their food, and bonus - they both lost a bit of weight when we switched.

Early in, kitty was allergic to many foods. Her vet prescribed this Royal Canin; she's loved it, and thrived on it, ever since!

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Feline Selected Protein Adult PV Canned Cat Food:

My cat is 14 and has Irritable Bowel Disease and beginning stages or Pancreatitis. This food brought his ALT blood level down from 314 to almost normal 104 in one month and stopped the vomiting and tummy rumbles. The food is expensive but my cat enjoys the venison flavor. He has taken to rabbit some but not so fond of the duck. Not sure but one of those flavors irritates his stomach so we are sticking with venison only. Going to try small amounts of the dry food next and see how he does.
