I have 2 cats, one male (n) and a female (s) on the Royal Canin SO. It's a more healthful grade of food than Science Diet CD for urinary issues. Although it may be more expensive, they are getting chicken as the first ingredient instead of a grain. They love the taste, as do my other rescued cats that don't need to be on the RX food. They are always trying to sneak a taste, but there is nothing left after my 2 that need to be eating it are finished. Their names are Slyther and Kivi and I'm so glad they came into my life so that I can feed them what they need, to be alive and thriveing.

My cat's urethra was blocked and the Vet was able to unblock it so he could urinate. We got him to the Vet right away when he started to cry and writhe with pain (otherwise his bladder could've burst and he would've died#. This can happen within 24 hours. He had bladder stones and is now on Royal Canin Urinary SO canned morsels and dry food. This food is nutritionally complete so our other cats can eat it also #and they do). My cat's due for another x-ray soon and we'll find out if the stones are gone.

Comments about Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Feline URINARY SO Canned Cat Food:

I have a cat that has urinary tract issues. I needed to put him on a prescription diet and we originally tried a different brand of urinary prescription canned food. Sherman didn't want much to do with it, and this is not a cat that is finicky. We switched to Royal Canin SO, and he gobbles it up. He has been holding steady with the urinary issues. It's not cheap food, but fortunately Petflow offers discounts fairly regularly so I stock up when they do.

My previous Maine Coon developed crystals in his urinary tract in middle age. It was painful and traumatic for both of us. I now have 2 Maine Coons who are only 2 years old, but I want to prevent them from getting this condition. My vet recommended this food as a preventive measure. For 1 meal I mix a can of this RC SO chicken with a can of Soulistic Shrimp & Tuna -- they eat every bit.

Good food that promotes good health! I ordered the 3oz cans by mistake, but they ended up making my life easier and my cat loves the morsels in gravy (as opposed to the patte)! He used to sometimes not eat all of the patte, but now he scarfs down every bit of the morsels! :)
