Over the last 40 years, Royal Canin has been committed to health nutrition with the aim of providing more precise nutritional answers, and adapted to the specific needs of cats & dogs.
Tailor-made nutrition for pure breed dogs. An exclusive kibble for each breed: a concentration of technical expertise born from the unique knowledge of Royal Canin combined with the practical experience of breeders.
Exclusive Kibble: The kibble's shape, size, texture and formula are adapted to the German Shepherd. Digestive Performance: A Longer colonic transit time, plus a higher colonic permeability in large breed dogs, can lead to more fermentation and poor stool quality. German Shepherd Adult contributes to supporting this breed's sensitive digestive system with highly digestible L.I.P. proteins and a selection of specific fibers to limit intestinal fermentation and to help maintain a balanced intestinal flora. Healthy Skin & Coat: The skin and coat reflect the dog's state of health. Appropriate food plays an important part in maintaining the quality of the skin and coat. The German Shepherd Adult formula helps support the skin's role as a barrier with an exclusive complex of nutrients and helps maintain skin and coat health (EPA and DHA). Bone & Joint Health: The lively temperament of the German Shepherd dogs lead to hard-working joints. The German Shepherd Adult formula helps support healthy bones and joints and helps maintain ideal weight. Enriched with EPA and DHA.
100% Complete and balanced nutrition, German Shepherd Adult Breed Health Nutrition is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO (Association of America Feed Control Officials) Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for maintenance.

I originally used the German Shepherd puppy food you have and the breeder used. I then switched to the adult German Shepherd food. My dog has been on NOTHING different and will be 7 yrs old in Sept. He is the 4th German Shepherd I've had. All others were on other foods and all had severe hip problems. This dog is the healthiest pet with excellent hips, skin, hair, etc. My vet cannot believe he's this healthy and while he can't carry the regular food because if me they began to carry all prescription food you make. I THANK YOU for all you put into the products affording me the greatest joy of my life.. My dog!

About a month ago I bought a bag of this because I loved that it was tailored to my GSD and the potential problems they have with digestion. I have an 18 month old shep who is not a picky eater, but I am always trying to feed her the best. At first, this was a great dog food and I was quite happy. However, after raving about it to a fellow GSD owner in our agility class, I was really disappointed. She encouraged me to look at the ingredients, and there I realized that this (incredibly expensive) food is made up of by product and garbage, and has less than the veterinarian recommended 30% of crude protein in a feeding. Not to mention, I had to feed FIVE CUPS of this to my dog when a typical feeding of her previous food, Blue Buffalo, was 1.5 cups twice a day. When you pay this much for a bag of dry food and then realize you're getting ground up chicken parts with oil and not the full nutritional value your dog should be eating, you will change your food too.

I have used royal canine ever since my puppies were little. My German shepherds are eight years old and that's all they've ever eaten. I really enjoy that it forces them to chew their food very well. It's a peace of mind to know that there digesting it properly. The personalized nutrition plans are just vital for a dog's long-term health. It's just so expensive that sometimes it's difficult to keep up with.
She was started on Eucnuba, made her have watery stools. Then was on Blue Buffalo which she had diarrhea and vomiting. Her trainer recommended Royal Canine for German Sheph and d. What a change!! She is now 10 yrs old. Has been on Royal Canine since she was 3 yrs old
I started feeding this food to my sensitive stomach german shephard. Who pretty much constantly had diaria. I tried several food before royal canin and once i switched not only was the diaria gone but he put on some weight that he needed and his coat was much better.
they refused all other brands of dogfood, but absolutely love Royal Canin
the German Shepherd dry dog food is a great product. I've used this product since we got our German Shepherd (Jack) as a puppy. Jack is very healthy according to the vet and has clean teeth.
Young shepherd is always happy and healthy. Was recommended by breeder and we have used exclusively.
Our German Shepherd, for the first time in his life, got a bottle of ibuprofen that was on the counter. Even after having his stomach pumped and a charcoal treatment, his tummy was never the same. He started losing hair and his legs were clearly in pain. I decided to give Royal Canin German Shepherd food a shot, and he absolutely turned around! His tummy was back to normal, all of his hair came back, and he was more agile than he had been in years. I am thankful to Royal Canin that I was able to get several more years with him.
My GSD started on the puppy brand and is now eating the adult. He loves it! He is healthy and active.
I have been buying the German shepherd formula exclusively for about a year now and my dogs have beautiful coats and are a healthy weight.
Been feeding our GSD, Krieger Royal Canin since he was a pup. Now two years old and we get numerous on 'great coat', 'handsome dog', great build' and various other comments. Our vet says Krieger is an excellent example of a well built health German Shepherd. Our breeder recommended RC, our vet recommended RC and we would highly recommend RC to any one. Read the labels and do your research it's well worth it.
