Over the last 40 years, Royal Canin has been committed to health nutrition with the aim of providing more precise nutritional answers, and adapted to the specific needs of cats & dogs.

Tailor-made nutrition for pure breed dogs. An exclusive kibble for each breed: a concentration of technical expertise born from the unique knowledge of Royal Canin combined with the practical experience of breeders.

Exclusive Kibble: The kibble's shape, size, texture and formula are adapted to the German Shepherd. Digestive Performance: A Longer colonic transit time, plus a higher colonic permeability in large breed dogs, can lead to more fermentation and poor stool quality. German Shepherd Adult contributes to supporting this breed's sensitive digestive system with highly digestible L.I.P. proteins and a selection of specific fibers to limit intestinal fermentation and to help maintain a balanced intestinal flora. Healthy Skin & Coat: The skin and coat reflect the dog's state of health. Appropriate food plays an important part in maintaining the quality of the skin and coat. The German Shepherd Adult formula helps support the skin's role as a barrier with an exclusive complex of nutrients and helps maintain skin and coat health (EPA and DHA). Bone & Joint Health: The lively temperament of the German Shepherd dogs lead to hard-working joints. The German Shepherd Adult formula helps support healthy bones and joints and helps maintain ideal weight. Enriched with EPA and DHA.

100% Complete and balanced nutrition, German Shepherd Adult Breed Health Nutrition is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO (Association of America Feed Control Officials) Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for maintenance.

I originally used the German Shepherd puppy food you have and the breeder used. I then switched to the adult German Shepherd food. My dog has been on NOTHING different and will be 7 yrs old in Sept. He is the 4th German Shepherd I've had. All others were on other foods and all had severe hip problems. This dog is the healthiest pet with excellent hips, skin, hair, etc. My vet cannot believe he's this healthy and while he can't carry the regular food because if me they began to carry all prescription food you make. I THANK YOU for all you put into the products affording me the greatest joy of my life.. My dog!

About a month ago I bought a bag of this because I loved that it was tailored to my GSD and the potential problems they have with digestion. I have an 18 month old shep who is not a picky eater, but I am always trying to feed her the best. At first, this was a great dog food and I was quite happy. However, after raving about it to a fellow GSD owner in our agility class, I was really disappointed. She encouraged me to look at the ingredients, and there I realized that this (incredibly expensive) food is made up of by product and garbage, and has less than the veterinarian recommended 30% of crude protein in a feeding. Not to mention, I had to feed FIVE CUPS of this to my dog when a typical feeding of her previous food, Blue Buffalo, was 1.5 cups twice a day. When you pay this much for a bag of dry food and then realize you're getting ground up chicken parts with oil and not the full nutritional value your dog should be eating, you will change your food too.

Who Knew?

By

from Santa Barbara

A week ago I adopted a four year old German Shepherd who'd been returned to the breeder. I tried two different dog foods without much success. I recalled a very low key comment made at the time of pickup that he's been fed Royal Canin, a product I'd never heard of. He didn't have much of an appetite during the past week. After a visit to my vet earlier today and her commenting he was a little too thin I looked up the site on the web and picked up a bag at Petsmart and opened it immediately upon getting home. Very different from the other two brands. My dog indicated he recognized the bag (they are extremely intelligent) and even better, ate all I gave him. Obviously this is the brand I'll continue to use. It is telling that this brand has a food specifically for German Shepherds.

    Diva Approved

Every morning Luna would throw up. After running tests vet said she had a sensitive stomach. Started a strict diet (no people food) and she was still throwing up. She also always looked underweight. After doing some research I decided to slowly switch her to RC german shepherd dog food. Within days throw up stopped. Four months later no throwing up and she doesn't look under weight anymore. Thank you for a product that improves her quality of life!!!!

Comments about Royal Canin German Shepherd Adult Dry Dog Food:

I have a high drive German Shepherd. Royal Canin came highly recommended by a trainer I've used and my vet. My GS seems to do really well on this food. It has the ingredients needed without the empty calories of other dog foods.

The best food for German Shepards

                By

                from Fremont, CA, United States

When I picked my German shepherd up as a puppy, my breeder turned to me and said you will feed him Royal Canine for the rest of his life period. He has a long coat and wherever I go people ask what I feed him. Just like people, what we eat is the most important thing we do for our body's and health. It's so important for your dogs overall health, skin and coat. Don't go with the cheapest. You wouldn't eat that way.

Started this about a year ago after my vet advised me to. My dogs coat has never been healthier. She loves the food and hasn't gotten sick in quite some time. Highly recommend!
