As cat lovers and experienced cat owners ourselves, we know that the condition of your cat's skin and fur is frequently a reflection of overall health. Poor skin health can sometimes be traced to dietary insufficiencies or imbalances. Problems with the skin and fur are never just cosmetic. Symptoms such as hair loss, thinning fur, dullness, dry flaky skin, excessive scratching, thickened skin, infections, and odors can often be traced back to either a shortage or an excess of a specific nutrient. In fact, there is no more visible indicator of problems with your cat's overall health than problems with the skin and fur. The right nutrients in the right proportions are indispensable to keeping your cat healthy.

Comments about AvoDerm Natural Tuna and Crab Meat Chunks Canned Cat Food:
We have two cats, one of whom loves Avoderm Tuna and Crab above all other cat food. Strangely, though, he won't eat any other Avoderm cat foods.

About Me Long-time Pet Owner
Along with her Science Diet dry food, she eats approx. 1/3 can in the morning. She absolutely screams out when she wakes up and doesn't stop until she gets her Avoderm tuna & crab!
Cats love it
By far this is my cats favorite food. I think texture is part of it. This type is loose with chunks of fish--not a loaf, and not hard gelatin.
Cat LOVED it.

My cat turns her nose at most foods. She devours this one.

healthy and yummy

so, part of why i decided to review this is because someone rated it and other Avoderm soft food products way lower than i think it deserves simply bc of its not having "enough calories." this line of food helps to maintain my diabetic cat as its high protein and low carbs, and keeps my other guys healthy. their weight is great and they are active and coat feels so soft! the salmon and chicken variety is more packed, but yeah, the seafood only tends to have less bc it's prolly more expensive to make...i do get that, but this food is so healthy and accepted by my cats that i couldn't give it any rating other than Excellent. I also supplement with a little Nature's Variety hard food, or double the cans depending on which size cat, but regardless this is top notch food. period! :)
Not enough calories
from Columbia, MD
So, typically for my 10lb cat, I would feed him between 6-7oz per day. However, with this food, he needs at least 3 can, and if you read the can, it says to feed 1 can for every 3lbs! That is a bit ridiculous, and this is not cheap food. My vet said that not all brands actually test their food's performance and this simply doesn't have enough calories. Anyway, now I know why my cat has been so hungry with his usual 6-7oz of food. I will be switching brands immediately.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
