I have fed my smooth fox terriers Whole Earth Farm from Merrick since the day I brought them home. Their breeder started them on it and I have kept them on it. I have two of the healthiest and most robust dogs I have ever had. They have no problems with fleas or allergies of any kid. Their eyes are bright, their coats are clean, shiny, and they have no odor. Their vet checkups always go well and they've never needed medication. It is rare that I take them to the groomer unless they've been playing in the mud. I highly recommend this food to anyone with a dog with serious allergies or food sensitivities, or even if you want a high quality food at a reasonable price. You won't regret the decision.

Great for my Lab puppy.

By

from Lafayette, LA, United States

We got a new puppy a few weeks ago. He's going to be trained to become a service dog for my son. The guy from the pet store recommended whole earth farms, so the first week we used that. The next week, I went out and bought one of the top of the line brands called Canidae grain free puppy food. Bad idea! He had the walking runs for a week! There is nothing worse than a puppy whose not house trained with diarrhea. I thought it was from his vaccines before someone mentioned it could be the food. I could run to the store fast enough to switch back to whole earth farms. I'm very happy with this food.

Comments about Whole Earth Farms Adult Dry Dog Food:

I am in rescue but also help train service dogs. My permanent pack consist of standard, miniature, & toy poodles. I rescue standard poodles. One of my standards and a miniature has stomach issues plus they are very picky eaters. The smaller poodles have never willingly eaten dry food. They can hold out for days until I give in and the wet food comes out. They love this food. My standard will lick his bowl clean. I've tried every brand from the most expensive to cheaper brands. My vet told me- if they won't eat it, then why keep buying the so called expensive one they won't eat. ( even the rescues take their queue from the pack). The rescues love this food too. For some, it is the first food they have ever been allowed to have enough of. They all go home with a bag of this food. My dogs coats have improved, they have nice firm bowel movements, they appear to have more energy, and now love meal times.

Our "kittens and dogs" love the dog food!

        By

        from Albuquerque, New Mexico

Our "kids love it"! That is two dogs-Shitzu and Australian Shepherd mix. We also have two FEISTY KITTENS - they are 4 & 5 months old. We can't keep this food away from them. We know dog food is bad for cats, but they won't stop eating it. We buy the cats high protein food as it is. The dogs go hungry if we try to hide it, as they are "grazers" and eat whenever they want. Our "kids" don't go hungry, never!

        Very happy

        By

        from Wellington, Florida

I used to buy Blue Buffalo Wilderness dry food. When I adopted a second dog, it became quite expensive to keep up with this food. Additionally, one of my dogs seemed very blah about the food. At the pet store, I saw Whole Earth Farms, Chicken and Turkey Grain Free. It still was a quality food and cost less. I now purchase a 25 pound bag for $39.99, while a 11 pound bag of the Blue Buffalo I was getting was $35.99. My picky eater is now the first in line when he realizes it's feeding time. The cans aren't bad. I can still feel good about what my dogs are fed and I feel much better at the checkout line at the pet store.

        My finicky eater loves it

        By

        from Philadelphia, PA

I have an almost-10 year old shepherd who has is finicky with his food, and had bad food anxiety when I got him at 3. He was very underweight. He gained weight and plumped up even, but it at a nice weight now. He is still very finicky, and I put a few things in his breakfast including turmeric which has a strong flavor. I recently switched to Whole Earth Adult Recipe and he just loves it. He is still a tad funny about the turmeric, but we mix it with his favorite Merrick wet food and he's been gobbling it down. He just begged me for dinner at not yet 5pm, after his regular breakfast earlier. I haven't seen the results of the food change on him yet, but I am very happy that he likes it so much. We've also been on the Merrick wet food for several months, and he prefers it to most others.

A great food at a great price!

Merrick is a great dog food that is made in the USA. My 10 yr old hound, who was in very poor condition when she was rescued five months ago. She weighed 40 pounds and had multiple skin and health issues. She is now at 51 pounds her coat, health, and stamina have drastically improved since feeding her Merrick. I also have a 2yr old Lab/hound cross, and a 2 yr old cattle dog cross who thrive on Merrick food. I find they eat less and do better on it than the "grocery store" brands you can get at the supermarket or the large chain stores. (The cattle dog is allergic to something in many of these commonly available dog foods. She does well on Merrick.)
Also, I have recently been adopted by two feral cats, I bought them Merrick cat food. I am confident the health of both cats will improve and they will begin to thrive as well.

My dogs thrive on Merrick foods.

My 3 rescue dogs thrive on Merrick foods. The most severely neglected dog I have gained weight and her health has improved dramatically in just 3 months! All three of my girls are large active breeds ranging from 2 to 10 years old. Merrick is a great food at a good price. I find my dogs are in better health and eat less than with the "bargain" brands at our local "Super Store" down the block. It is a very economical nutritious food, also it is made in the USA with ingredients I can trust.
