Wellness has redefined the world of grain-free cat food! We have developed a 50% protein diet with the most meat possible in a dry cat food while still controlling fat and mineral levels! The essence of the raw feeding philosophy is nutrient-rich, high-quality meat - and lots of it. That's the same philosophy behind CORE Fish & Fowl Dry Cat Food. But that's not all. This unique, grain-free formula also supports and nurtures your cat's inside. their essence. their Core. Since feline health requires a delicately balanced nutritional equation, we must consider that adding the most meat possible in a dry cat food will have an effect on fat, mineral and calorie levels. So to create a protein-focused diet the Wellness Way, we carefully control the quality and quantity of the ingredients we use, and pay close attention to the individual properties of each inclusion. From source to bowl, we make no exceptions! If you are looking for a food with more meat, no grai

Wellness Grain Free original

By

from Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada

I have 2 cats, a 5 month old and a 17 year old. Our 5 month old was very gassy and stinky so the vet suggested the Gastro food from Hills but I did not like the ingredients in this food and since both cats eat from the same dish I didn't want our senior girl eating it either. So I did some research and Wellness was at the top of each article I found. I went to pet smart and got a small bag to try. It was a hit! both love it and no more stinky gas :) I figure if the vet was going to put our kitten on the gastro by hills then the Wellness core original would be good for him as well.

Saved my cat!

By

from La Vista, NE

My cat was diagnosed as being diabetic due to a medication she was taking at the time. Our vet instructed us to start giving her insulin injections twice daily and to switch to a low-carb diet. We immediately shopped the market and determined that Wellness Core Dry Food was the best option due to the ingredients and high protein content. With regular administration of her insulin in combination with her new diet, she was no longer diabetic 18 months later! Our vet has recommended this to his other diabetic kitties as well. We noticed changes in our other cats too- their fur was shinier, and their teeth were much cleaner. We are so happy we switched from a popular "scientific" brand you see at the vet's office. Wellness Core changed all of our lives for the better.

Nice food, bad smell

By

from Columbia, TN, United States

I bought this as my first wellness food purchase for my cat Pixel. She really liked the flavor (more so then the indoor she's eating now) and I love that it's low in carbs, and seems like a really healthy diet. However, I could not get over the smell of that food, very very fishy. She has been swapped to indoor because obviously you feed a stinky food their poop will smell and man it was awful. If it didn't small so bad I would have stayed on it for sure

Healthy food which seemed to keep my cats happy

By

I have two cats who admittedly are not especially picky eaters, but both really took to this food immediately. One of them ripped the bag to get into it when I left it on the floor which never happens with their regular food. Our skittish cat seemed alot calmer after a while on this food. Woudl definitely consider a permanent change to this food as both cats seemed really happy on it, which is the main thing.

great for cats!

My cat loves this food and has been on it for years. Used to feed Science Diet and the cats were always sick and had to go to the vet. Keep in mind these are indoor only kitties and getting sick all the time. Switched to Wellness Core and no issues any longer. Makes you wonder.

Excellent Quality Dry Cat Food

By

from Northern Michigan

Site Member

I would definitely recommend this Grain Free cat food to anyone who has a cat with allergies that is possibly under weight. I transitioned my cat to this food "cold-turkey" (I would NOT have done so under normal circumstances) and she immediately loved the taste and it is also slowly helping her bring her weight back up to normal. I am very happy with this Wellness Core Grain-Free dry cat food. Her coat is glossy again and she is back to happy.

To make a long story as short as possible, my cat developed a cough over the course of a year and became so agitated that her appetite diminished (her weight subsequently decreased) and she could not use her litter box. Two veterinarians later, she was diagnosed with asthma, due to possible allergies, and given medication.
I hoped switching her to the grain-free food would eliminate any food allergies and, combined with her medication, I feel it has. She has also slowly started gain weight back.
